The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation Scholarships provide exceptional young Indian graduates the opportunity to pursue higher education at leading institutions in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. Designed to support individuals with remarkable talent, character, and motivation, the scholarship aims to enhance academic and professional growth. It offers a transformative experience that broadens perspectives, refines skills, and prepares scholars to become future leaders of change.

Scholarship Benefits and Funding

The scholarship provides financial assistance of up to USD 100,000, covering:

  • Tuition fees

  • Living expenses

  • One-way airfare

  • Health allowance

If the total program cost exceeds USD 100,000, applicants must demonstrate proof of additional funding. For PhD candidates, any extra funding must come from institutional sources rather than personal finances.

Exclusive Institutional Collaborations

Applicants admitted to Imperial College London, Royal College of Art (RCA) London, University of Cambridge (Cambridge Trust), King’s College London, University of St Andrews, University of Edinburgh, and Hertie School in Berlin may receive additional financial aid through joint scholarships, potentially exceeding the USD 100,000 limit.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be Indian passport holders residing in India at the time of application.

  • Be born on or after 1st January 1995.

  • Hold a degree from a recognized Indian university (final-year students can apply).

  • If they hold an undergraduate degree from a foreign institution, they must have lived, worked, or studied in India for at least two years post-graduation.

  • Have secured admission to their chosen course and university before applying.

  • Meet academic performance standards:

    • 65% (CGPA 6.8/10 or GPA 2.6/4) for Social Sciences, Humanities, Law, Fine Arts, and Architecture.

    • 70% (CGPA 7.2/10 or GPA 3/4) for Mathematics, Sciences, and Environmental Studies.

  • Provide English language certification (if required in the admission offer).

  • Have an admission offer for 2025-26 if applying with a deferred offer.

Ineligible Fields of Study

The scholarship does not support courses in:

  • Business & Finance

  • Computer Science

  • Engineering (except at Imperial College London)

  • Fashion Design

  • Film & Film Animation (except Documentary Filmmaking)

  • Hospitality & Tourism

  • Indian Studies without contemporary relevance

  • Management (MBA)

  • Medicine, Dentistry, and related therapies

  • Music (except Western Classical Singing)

Application Process

Online Application Submission:

  • Requires a stable internet connection (cannot be saved midway).

  • A verification code is sent via email for registration.

  • Deadline: 31st March 2025 (12:00 PM IST).

Required Documents:

  • Valid passport or renewal receipt

  • Updated Resume/CV

  • Recent photograph (JPEG/PNG)

  • Admission/Offer letter

  • Official fee statement

  • Proof of additional funding (if applicable)

  • Academic transcripts & degree certificates

  • Portfolio/writing samples (if required)

  • TOEFL/IELTS/GRE scores (optional)

  • Financial Documentation:

    • Tuition fees, health insurance, and other expenses must be detailed.

    • PhD applicants must outline funding details for all study years.

    • Additional funding proof (bank statements, loan approval letters, scholarships, etc.).

Reference Letters:

  • Two referees (academic for students, professional for working applicants).

  • Must be on official letterhead and signed.

  • Referees receive an email link valid until 7th April 2025 to upload letters.

Scholarship Duration & Timeline

  • Funded programs range from 9 months to 4 years.

  • Applications for 2025 open on 14th February 2025 and close on 31st March 2025 (12:00 PM IST).

  • The scholarship must commence within 9 months of being awarded; otherwise, it will be forfeited.

Selection Process

An independent selection committee evaluates applications based on past achievements, future potential, and portfolios (for arts and design applicants). The selection process has three stages:

  1. Application Review

  2. Online Preliminary Interviews

  3. Final In-Person Interview
