International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship?

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive:

£10,000 per year towards tuition fees
A maximum total of £30,000 for three-year programs and £40,000 for four-year programs

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, you must:

Have an offer to study an undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield, starting in autumn 2025.
Be classified as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes.
Be self-funded (not sponsored by an external organization).
Enroll in year 1 or year 2 of your chosen program (excluding Medicine and Dentistry).
Note that MArch programs are considered postgraduate and are not eligible.

How to Apply

Secure an Offer – Apply and receive an offer to study at the University of Sheffield.
Submit Your Scholarship Application – Log in with your applicant details and complete the online application.
Meet the Deadline – The application deadline is 1pm (UK time) on Tuesday, 22 April 2025.
Await Results – Scholarship recipients will be announced by Wednesday, 14 May 2025.

Selection Process

The scholarship is highly competitive. A panel of university staff will evaluate applications based on:

Academic excellence
Demonstrated initiative and achievements in education, volunteering, or extracurricular activities
Alignment of achievements with the chosen degree and future aspirations

Additional Award Conditions

You can only receive one merit-based scholarship.
It cannot be combined with other University of Sheffield merit scholarships.
To maintain the scholarship in subsequent years, you must achieve at least 60% academic performance and complete 120 credits each year.
The scholarship applies only to tuition fees and cannot be deferred or transferred to another academic year.
